Dr. Ignasi Català Antúnez

Having been with the Instituto Clavel since its beginning has given me the opportunity to grow personally and professionally, and given me a very solid foundation in the treatment of spine surgery. Thanks to the commitment of the Institute to always provide the best training for all professionals, I have had the opportunity to do a fellowship at the USF Hospital in San Francisco, at the Tampa General Hospital in Florida and at the General Hospital of Bordeaux, hand in hand with the best world specialists, learning new techniques in spinal surgery.

Over the 10 years I have been with Instituto Clavel, I have been trained in lumbar and cervical arthroplasty techniques, in complex techniques for correcting scoliosis and spinal deformities, minimally invasive techniques such as XLIF and, more recently, in robotic surgery. During this time, I have also become the surgeon with the most experience in sacroiliac joint fusion surgery in Europe, which has given me the expertise to train others in this new technique.

As Deputy Director of Instituto Clavel, having an excellent medical team means a great responsibility. Having helped create this great team is a professional achievement that gives me great pride and satisfaction.

Since the opening of the IC Rehabilitation center, I have served as their medical director. We have managed to combine specialized spinal rehabilitation with adaptation to exercise after surgery. We have achieved this by forming a team that is highly specialized in the spinal column.
